The Foundation was established in 1997 with the mission to serve as a catalyst for the sustainable development of Oracabessa and its environs.
Today the Oracabessa Foundation's purpose is making an impact in 2 critical areas:
People - To achieve livelihood development for adults and positive engagement for youth.
Planet - To support the conservation of coastal marine ecosystems within the Oracabessa Bay.
Island ACTS (Assisting Communities Toward Strength) is a charitable organization dedicated to the relief of the poor and underprivileged, primarily through the advancement of education, healthcare and community development projects in Jamaica. Island ACTS is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation, and donations are therefore tax-deductible in the United States.
